How this stays private
Everything about your sign (settings, API keys and the GitHub token) is encrypted with your password before it is saved to GitHub (AES-256, the same kind of encryption password managers use). Without the password, the stored files are unreadable. Your password never leaves this browser.
Step 1: Make a GitHub access token
- Open GitHub, New fine-grained token.
- Name it
LED Ticker. Set Expiration to the longest option offered. - Under Repository access, choose Only select repositories and pick led-ticker.
- Under Permissions, then Repository permissions, set Contents to Read and write. Leave everything else alone.
- Click Generate token and copy it.
The token can only touch this one repo. When it expires, come back here and choose "renew" below.
